Ahmed Fatimi - Profile

Ahmed Fatimi is an Associate Professor at Sultan Moulay Slimane University (Beni-Mellal, Morocco). He obtained a Master degree in chemical engineering from Polytech’Nantes School (Nantes, France) and a Master degree in biopolymers engineering from University of Nantes (Nantes, France). He received the Ph.D. degree in biomaterials from University of Nantes in 2008. His postdoctoral research was carried out, from 2009 until 2012, at Canada research chair in biomaterials and endovascular implants (Montreal, Canada). Dr Fatimi has developed and patented a radiopaque hydrogel combining both embolizing and sclerosing properties for embolizing blood vessels, and to treat or to prevent frequent blood leakage during treatment of aneurysms. Dr. Fatimi’s research is focused on developing and formulation of biopolymer-based hydrogels for tissue engineering and biomedical use, and their physico-chemical, rheological and biological properties. Another field of Dr. Fatimi’s research concerns intellectual property and innovation related to chemistry.

He has published 24 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, and 2 book chapters, as well as, around 40 conference communications. Moreover, he is an inventor of 4 patents (PCT, France, Canada, United States).
