Françoise Ugochukwu - Profile

Françoise Ugochukwu, Habilitée à diriger des recherches, Chevalier des Palmes Académiques, a Chartered Linguist and a French Professor of Comparative Literature, counts more than fifty years in Higher Education in Nigeria, France and the UK. Her qualifications, professional career path and area of expertise have placed her at the crossroads between language studies, literature, translation, anthropology and cinema. She is currently co-directing a PhD in African literature (University of Niamey, Niger) and is an experienced PhD external examiner on Nigerian literature and cinema.

Yanming An is Professor of Chinese and Philosophy at Clemson University. He received his Ph.D. in Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Michigan, USA and M.A. and B.A. from Fudan University, China. Before coming to Clemson University, he served at the Institute of Philosophy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the University of Michigan, and Princeton University. The academic fields in which he has worked include classical Confucianism and Daoism, the influence of Buddhism on the formation of Neo-Confucianism, the Hegel-Marx tradition, the philosophical movement from Phenomenology to hermeneutics, and comparative philosophy. He has published extensively in both Chinese and English, in original writing and in translation.
