Editor in Chief- Profile
Prof. Masakazu Yoshikawa is a Professor of Biomolecular Engineering and Chairperson for Graduate Program of Biomolecular Engineering, Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT), Kyoto, Japan. He received his bachelor and Ph.D. degrees from Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Takeo Shimidzu, who is the former President of the Membrane Society of Japan. He then joined Prof. Naoya Ogata's research group in Sophia University in Tokyo as an Assistant Professor. In 1986 he moved to Department of Chemical Engineering at Kyoto University, where he worked as an Assistant Professor. In 1991 he joined the Department of Biomolecular Engineering at Kyoto Institute of Technology, where he is currently at a post of Professor. From 1988 to 1990 he was a visiting scientist at National Research Council of Canada and worked with Dr. Takeshi Matsuura. His interests focus on molecular recognition, application of molecular imprinting to membrane preparation, membrane materials chemistry, and membrane transport phenomena.
