Director and Professor of Thin Film Research Centre, Chubu University, Kasugai, Japan
Dr. Taga graduated from Nagoya Institute of Technology and joined Toyota Central Research and Development Laboratory in 1970. After taking a PhD degree in Materials Science from Osaka University, he promoted as a director of TCRDL in 1996 and was appointed as an adjunct professor of Tohoku University in Japan and the University of Toronto in Canada from 2000 to 2010. After the retirement of the director, he became an advisor of TCRDL for 2 years and moved to Chubu University as a director and professor of Thin Film Research Centre.
The specialized research field of Prof. Taga is the design of thin films and interface for application in industry. Professor Taga recently invented an epoch-making method of joining of different material at low temperature by gas adsorption without using chemical adhesive, which is now in the process of industrial application. Furthermore, he just developed new multifunctional thin film materials of CeO2-PTFE hybrid system with high ultraviolet light shielding of more than 80% at 380 nm and the ultra-hard surface of 16000N/mm2 ( 3 times higher than that of inorganic glass). As a result, he is currently strongly interested in the design of multifunctional thin films and interfaces with a special interest in industrial applications.
His R & D activity is complemented by over 380 original papers including 2 papers in Science and review articles in International Journals & Conference, and over 12,000 citations by other researchers. Furthermore, he obtained 145 International Patents. Besides, he awarded the International R & D Prize, ASTM Prize, Global 100 Echo-Tech Prize, Fine ceramics Prize, etc

Farrukh Imran Dr. Jinyang Xu, FIAAM, MSCS, is an Associate Professor and a Doctoral Supervisor of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He was ranked as the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University for four consecutive years (2021-2024). He received his M.Sc. (2013) in Mechanical Manufacturing & Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and obtained his Ph.D. (2016) in Mechanical Engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech, France. His research interests focus on composites machining, numerical modeling, micro/nano cutting, and surface texturing. He has published over 60 articles in highly-ranked JCR-referenced journals as a first/corresponding author, co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, and edited 3 monographs, 5 book chapters, 10 int. conf. proceedings & 11 special issues, being cited over 4000 times with an h-index of 36 according to Google Scholar Citations. He has delivered more than 20 Keynote Lectures at various international conferences and has applied over 40 national patents. He is the Founding Editor of the International Journal of Product Sound Quality (IJPSQ) and holds the Editor-in-Chief positions of Journal of Coating Science and Technology (JCST), and International Journal of Precision Technology (IJPTech). He serves as an Associate Editor for esteemed journals such as Proc. IMechE Part E – J. Process. Mech. Eng. (SCIE/EI), Simulation - Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCIE/EI), and Frontiers in Materials (SCIE/EI). Moreover, he is on the Editorial Board of several SCI journals, including Green Materials, Journal of Superhard Materials, Coatings, Lubricants, etc. He holds over 800 peer reviews and over 100 editor records for various international journals including IJMTM, JMPT, IJAMT, IJMS, COST, WEAR, etc., verified by the Web of Science (WOS) (https://www.webofscience.com/wos/author/rid/G-8731-2011). He is the General Chair of the 2nd and 3rd International Conference on New Materials, Machinery and Vehicle Engineering (NMMVE2023/2024). He has been invited as Keynote/Invited Speakers, Section Chairs, and TPC members for a number of international conference series (e.g., APMAS, DSMIE, ICMEM, ICMTM, ICMSOA, ICEM, ICMD, ICMAT, NMMVE, etc.) with themes in materials science and manufacturing processes. He has presided and participated in more than 20 national and provincial projects including the NSFC grants, National Science and Technology Major Project, National Key Research and Development Program, and Intergovernmental Scientific and Technological Cooperation Project, as well as a number of industrial projects. For his notable research in the field of Materials Processing & Manufacturing, he was honored with the prestigious IAAM Scientist Medal of the year 2020, and received the Best Paper Awards at the NMMVE2024 (July 19-21, 2024, Dalian, China), CMAMT2023 (August 2-4, 2023, Shenyang, China), the NMMVE2023 (June 2-4, 2023, Guiyang, China), the NMMVE2022 (March 18-20, 2022, Guilin, China), the CJUMP2017 (November 19-21, 2017, Shanghai, China) and the ISGMA2015 (June 23-27, 2015, Qingdao, China) conferences. He has been the recipient of several awards, including the First Prize of the 5th National Blended Teaching Design Innovation Competition for Universities (2023), the First Prize of the Blended Teaching Design Innovation Competition of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2023), Wiley 2020-2021 Top Cited Author Award (Wiley, 2022), the Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing Award (Elsevier, 2016 & 2018), the Nominee of the Pierre Bézier Doctoral Dissertation Award (2016), the CSC Government Scholarship (2013), the Excellent Master Thesis Award of Shanghai Municipality (2013), the Excellent Graduate Award of Shanghai Municipality (2013), and the National Graduate Scholarship of China (2012).
