Abstract:
Background: Attention is the state of applying the concentration to something and it's strongly linked to academic performance. The drive of this study was to analyze the academic performance and attention of undergraduate students.

Methods: The study was implemented on 139 undergraduate students of Bangladesh selected from 9 universities from April to August 2018. In this study to investigate the attention of the students, the Uddin’s Numeral Finding (NF) and Typo Revealing (TR) tests were used.

Results: In the NF test male students with last semester cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.47 (highest) exerted the maximum 40% attention but female students exerted only 33.3% attention and their last semester CGPA was 3. Students with age > 22 years exerted maximum, 70.55%, and 35.2% attention in NF and TR tests respectively with last semester CGPA of 3.56 (maximum). In the NF and TR tests, highest, 89.73%, and 50.33% attention respectively were reported by 1st-year students with last semester CGPA of only 3.70. High-socioeconomic status students with last semester CGPA of 3.43 (lowest) exerted maximum 75.30% attention in NF test. There were no significant associations between variables.

Conclusion: Attention is a very rudimentary function that often is a forerunner to cognitive functions. Individual differences in academic performance have been linked to differences in attention and intelligence.

Abstract: Sport has relatively recently ceased to be an applied institution of social life. If earlier the sport had a strictly defined additional orientation (for example, it served the purposes of increasing the combat training of the army), then after the Second World War, sport becomes a means of demonstrating the prestige of the state, reaching the international level. Sport becomes a professional activity and an independent direction of the commercial life of the society.

This paper is a preliminary research which gathers quantitative and qualitative information about social bonding for two categories of stake-holders: intellectually disabled athletes and partners from mainstream schools, training and competing in unique teams. This approach aimed at: identifying the perception of self-concept and self-esteem among ID athletes in relation to their social integration, determining the way ID athletes think they are perceived by their school friends and partners within Special Olympics events, identifying the positive effects on both personal and social levels, by participating in Sports events, identifying the partners’ perception related to the athletes’ abilities and possibility to advocate in this respect.

All data confirmed that regular training and Sports competition attendance leads to greater social inclusion, an interesting self-concept and self-esteem perception of the athletes, as well as certain inside ways of viewing the positive outcomes of delivering such educational programs.

Abstract: The idea of this research paper arose out of an awareness that students with language learning disabilities are completely ignored in the educational system and there are no special programs that cater to these students. They are placed in normal schools that are not prepared to deal with their unique difficulties. This paper, therefore, is an attempt to provide teachers with multiple-strategies models for teaching English language skills to these students at the intermediate level and beyond. More specifically, this research will help pre-and in-service teachers to:

  • Identify effective strategies for learning and using language skills,
  • Use multiple-strategies models for teaching language skills,
  • Strategies for language learning and language use into regular language activities, and finally,
  • Both the processes and products of language learning of students with learning disabilities.

Thus, the target audience of this research includes pre-and in-service regular teachers, special education teachers, school psychologists, counsellors, and administrators.
